hi
tried to post this in the tech section and could NOT get it to load for some reason...
anyway , all the lights [6 of them] are out in my magnum delta force, so I have to use flashlite to see frequency counter....
they are called PL501 thru PL506 they are 6 volt or 8 volt...smaller than a wheat lite...
where do I get these??
thanks
sam

Juiceman had the same problem and he called Magnum and they suggested installing 6 blue LED's. There are some conversion kits out on the web too. Seems to be a common problem so I would call them and see what they suggest. I actually shipped the radio off for him to have the conversion done. Just a couple of options. Can you reach Lee's Summit with your station? I don't hear too many people off to the east most are in Kansas City.

IF you are going to install LEDs you might consider putting in some of those multi-colored LEDs. To change the color of the LED all you have to do is vary the imput voltage.

All you need then would be a double throw switch somewhere on the radio and an extra resistor to switch between two possible colors.

Would a small variable resistor work. Just wondered if you could dial up the color you want.

From the brief technichals I saw on the packaging of said LED (1 to a pack) the color was based on voltage. So I imagine any kind of resistor wouldl work, varable or otherwise. However I would be certain to make sure that when the variable resistor is at minimum value the amount of juce going to the LEDs is not in excess of the maximum amount.
