Does anyone know if the realistic TRC 451 can be moded for extra frequiencies buy changing the 10.695 crystal?

The 10.695 crystal in any PLL synthesized radio is used as a reference for the PLL. You shouldn't change it out or adjust it.

It uses a PLL that can be modified with a kit - the UPD2824.

Oops - the crystal I was talking about is marked 10.240 - not 10.695. Typically the UPD2824 SSB radios only have one crystal for frequency synthesis and that's the 10.240. I think the 10.695 you saw in that radio is the SSB crystal lattice filter. Sorry for my mistake.
