Just wanted to ask if RG8X-95 is good coax. Also plan to use about 60 feet with a KLV- 1000 amp or texas star sweet 16. Thanks for any input.. CEF # 427 Bugnosis |

RG-8 is fine up to 1000 watts up to 6 meters. For higher bands i use LMR-400 on the 2 and 440 mhz band and it also is a good coax and cheep. |

Thanks Bruce for your reply. So I take it from your reply that i would want to go with LMR-400 or better coax. I need to run about 60 feet. You said that the RG-8 is good for 6 meters. I think thats about 19 feet. so thats out for sure. Ok sir I thank you again.... |

uhhhhhhh.... wait a minute Bugnosis, I believe Bruce was talking about the 6 meter band not the length of coax! You should be just fine with that settup, and may I suggest the texas star over the klv BC |

bc-610 is right 50 mhz or 6 meters frequency not length. Now back 30 years ago when 213 and others were very costly i ran rg-8 on 6 and 2 meters using a KW for moonbounce it still is very good coax. Lon is right rg-213 is even better and has got much cheaper so take his advice and go for it. |

Thank you guys for your replys. Think i'll take Lon's advice on the RG-213. Just have to ask Bc910 why personaly he would suggest the Texas Star over the KLV 1000. Fixing to place that order very soon, and going back and forth on makeing my mind up. At this time the one disadvanage of the sweet 16 is the purchase of a power supply to power that baby up. Help me out BC910 what are your thoughts. Again thanks all for your replys. Bugnosis.... |
