Tnx for the info on the TRC 451. I have a cobra 146 that i moded by changing the 10.240 crystal and it works just fine.So i guess that i cant do that with the 451? What is this kit and where can i get one.

I can't imagine changing the 10.240 crystal in a Cobra 146 made it a very useful radio. The purpose of that crystal is to provide a clock reference for the PLL, and changing it basically makes the PLL unusable.

I don't think Copper sells the kits. Use google to find them.
