For those of you who are familiar with the old Palomar 500 watt meters what is the AM monitor. Does this give you something like a talk back or is it suposed to be used for something else. I have one and would like to know what this is for. Thanks,Excope, CEF386

I will type what is on the instruction sheet.

Headphone plugged into jack at front panel of model 500. FWD-REV switch in FWD position. SWR-PWR switch in SWR position. When transmitting and speaking into the mike, the transmitted audio will be heard in the earphones. Do not measure watts or SWR with headphones plugged into the model 500.
