Has anyone successfully installed a nice CB radio on a Gold Wing? Please do not mention that optional overpriced, underpowered Hondaline “accessory”. |

Red_devil, Yes, I made a face plate out of 1/4 inch plexiglass and made a cutout for a Uniden AX144 and a Uniden Grant for the Right hand pouch for our 1983 & 84 wings I then painted the Back side of the Plexi-glass a Bright Black to match the fairing and it really looked SHARP! The MAGNUM 257 with the Blue LED's would REALLY LOOK SHARP. as it is way smaller than the AX144 and Grant I used. Hope this help's. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Thanks Lon. It sounds like a nice weekend project :-). I bet you blew a few minds with that set up. Now the next logical question. Since the GL1800 is an aluminum alloy beast. Would you run that Hondaline "wire hangar" as an antenna or would you go for a modified "boat style" no-ground antenna? Any other suggestions? I bet SWR adjustment got interesting. |
