Anyone know if the old Alliance u100 rotor will work to turn a MaCo Comet antenna? Or should I post this in the ask the tech section,I finally mad my mind up to get the Comet over the Super Hawk and got a u100 rotor with the tower I took down off some ones house and if it will work I will save $$$$.
also, does any one know how to test a alliance rotor control, the old kind with 3 wires and made of bakelite.

The u-100 is not made to turn a cb beam HOWEVER with the support bearing that they made for it it MIGHT work

That Comet is a bit large for the U-100 or the U-110, but like Bruce said, if yo use the thrust bearing attachment, then it will handle the antenna. Keep in mind, after a wind storm, you may have to reset the end points. It's easy to do, just turn the rotor all the way around each direction. If the rotor hangs up before it reaches one of the ends, simply press the button on the bottom of the control box until the light goes out.
