Hello all just got my rci2995dx its a diffrent type of equipment I have been use to. Owner's Manual don't tell you to much, you can play around with it for hrs. and can still be a little lost. But its fun for a old operator like me. Need to know before I take it back to shop, if the clarifier should make the frz. counter move when turned, maybe its disconnected if so I need to make a trip, but need to know before I go. Haven't done any DX yet but hope to do some soon. Could anyone tell me what book I can get to help me with this Radio. Oh yea, its completly diffrent than my rci2980 WOW!! its heavy!!!!! Look Good on desk with other equipment. Hope to catch you guys in dx land Wayne CEF158 CM1595

Wayne,
When I use LSB and want to get on freq heres what I do. Once I am on the freq I want to transmit on and I make a contact use the shift button to move the indicator arrow under the lowest digit on the freq counter, then use you up and down buttons to tx on the correct freq with them. Once they can here you clearly then use the clarifier to reccieve them. Takes a little while to get used to it but ya don't need to unlock the clarifier on this radio if you use it this way. Once your on freq with them hit the lock button and you'll be dead on with them. Ya think the base is tricky try doing this in a moblie on a 2950DX!
See ya,
CEF260

P.S. my 2995dx will be here Tuesday! yee haaaaa

Hello Beantown thanks for the info.I have been playing with it a while didn't figure out the shiftout at first but kept messing up but I got it after a while. Talked some skip and did some long distance ground wave its great!!. I guess I'll take my 12 element lasers off the 25ft tower and take the tv antt. off thr 60ft tower and put the beams up in the air. Thanks again Hello again You take care Road Warrior
