To any who have noticed my absence of late an aplogy and short explanation is in order.

After several years of running on 2 hours sleep a night, suffering (actually those around me suffered)from a volitlie temper I finally broke dwon and saw the doctor.

He, finding nothing wrong, sent me to a psycologist who diagnosed Clinical Depression. Anyone who know what I went thru during school would not be too surprise at that. Anyway the medication prescribed has had me doped up since about late October and I am now just adaptiong to it.

So A late Merry Xmas, hope all have a happy new year and maybe soon I can get back to normal and be around more often again.

Tech237, you are certainly not alone. Around 30% of the population suffer with depression in their lifetime. It lasts longer for others than some. Some can take medication for a shortwhile and basically get through it; others, may have to take medication all their lives.

The hardest part is over....living without treatment. Getting the help and proper medication will change your life.

Mike,
Thats what I've found out and why I've been able to come forward and let you all know what I have been going through instead of, as I was at first, embarrassed about it.

Considering that history now shows that I have been suffering from it since about the age 15 I am expecting to be on medication for the rest of my life but time will tell.

I've suffered with it myself and have had numerous family members suffer with it, some worse than others. There are some very good medications out there now.

Anyway, thanks for sharing this with us. I have a feeling that many more people than we might first think can relate to your comments.

Thanks for helping us out on this site. I have learned so much since finding the website. I'm surprised to find such a large number of Hams (I am one too) on a website that primarily discusses cb. I guess there's a lot of hams "coming out of the closet" so to speak. LOL! We get those big license and then find: "I miss my cb!" I can't resist this (shoot me)...."I want my m-cb."

Happy New Year from my house to yours'

Tech237,
There is nothing to be embarrassed about.I am on three different medications for depression and have been for several years. Believe me I know what you are going through. It is rough at times, but once they get your medication dosage right you will be like a new person. Keep your chin up and you will beat this.
You have a lot of friends here on the forum and I'm sure they will help you thru this. My prayers are with you.

Semper Fi!!!
