I have a question for you guys/gals. I have a couple of astron 35's what I would like to do is to make two distribution points for the power. It is not convenient to hook directly to the power supply if I want to say test something. The connectors in the astrons are in the back, I would like to run a coupld of wires from each and make a place on each end of the bench from each power supply, I know some of you have had to do this, any suggestions, including where I can find the parts for your suggestions. Thanks in advance, Rich |

Pig040, Well I run 2 Power Supplies and the easiest way I have found is go to Menards. Lowes or an elictrical store and get 2 or 4 Bus Bars with 6 or 8 connecting holes for wire, maybe $2.00 apiece. Then I run 10 gauge RED & BLACK wire to them and one bus bar is painted RED and the other one BLACK. I then made two Plactic covers for each of them out of a kids Plastic Pencil Box maybe $1.00 at Wal-Mart to prevent any possibility of shorts or dropping anything on them that might short. I just opened the Pencil Boxes and placed the Bus Bars inside and ran screws thru the bus bar's to my bench and thus insulating it. Then I have 2 pin, 3 pin and L plug and Jumper Leads connected to both so I always have Jumpers and Power Cords hooked up all the time to make things Very Easy and not have the Power Supplies in the way. Total Cost Less than $10.00 and gives me 20 outlets for Positive and Negative hook ups. And this will allow you to mount it on Top of your Bench or Under your Bench out of the way to prevent anything falling on them. Hope this help's, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

MFJ makes nice power strips for power distribution. They're expensive, but if they fit your needs then the lower end models aren't that bad. If they aren't what you really want, you might want to adapt their design to what would work best for you. I like the models that have meters in them. |

Thanks for the input, sounds like a great idea, Lon. I think that is the way I will go, why buy when you can improvise. Rich |
