I would like to know if you think the hd73 rotor will hold up ok with a 31 foot beam antenna in the wind about 60 ft. high? I mean will the gears on it strong enough to keep it locked without knocking it off of calibration.

Below is from my Owners Manual on my HD-73 rotors that I use:

The HD-73 was designed to operate antennas with a maximum of 10.7 Square feet of wind load area when properly installed.

A 31' beam / boom Antenna like a Maco M106C is rated at 10.21 so I would strongly suggest a Larger Rotor to avoid problems.
