I change my mind, I don't want any one to get an S9 any more
Never!!!!!
DON'T DO IT!!!!!
why? You ask,

well if you all get one then I won't be the best sounding radio on the block no more :-( So don't get one, get the galaxy so I can sound better, do more, and go to farther frequencies :P

arrrgh well I guess it was nice being one of the first and now I have to deal with it

I've never used an S9, but my Galaxy DX88HL was the single most disappointing radio I've ever owned.

Can the S9 scan or change channels in 5k/c steps standard out of the box (ie modified for 11m)
If not is there a mod.
If no mods which freeband radios can move in 5k/c steps with minimal modification.
Thanks,
Dave

now that's the catch, chappy-finding a way to effectively drive the 8 pill starting with the S9.
from my testing so far, the S9 is too much, even for a supposed 'high drive' amp that would work properly with the 1600. my S9 wasn't enough to drive my dx1600 past the limits of a 40 amp power supply, only a couple hundred watts. and a quick key of my as-yet-to-be-installed davemade 5 pill was awefully close to what the dx1600 cruises at...
