will the lincon run right with a xt400 amp
my freind says lincons with 455 have prob with hooking up to amps.. |

Mrsandman,
My Lincoln with the MRF455 runs great with any amplifier I have used it on.
I have my dead key set an 2-1/2 watts and have no problems.
And I have never seen an amplifier yet that can determine what kind of final is driving it.

tec808 thank u some radios just dont like some amps and some dont,, some radio need to jive with
with the setup,,, aka,, more of a pain 'lol ' |

Sorry but there is NO amplifier out there in the radio world that can tell what kind of radio is connected to it.
All a amplifier see's is the Input Drive Power weather it is from a Uniden Pro510 or a Ranger 2995DX.
If a radio is set up correctly and properly aligned then 3 watts out is 3 watts out no mater what kind of radio you are using.

thanku i know what your saying.. i set up a lot of rigs in diff cars and trucks like u said set up right any radio can work with any amp.. never set up a lincoln with a amp my freind had told me
he tried 4 times would not run right.. dont know why??
thought i ask ..ive set barefoot to 8pills up
had my problems but always found away around things by asking
ps. lincons dont need a amp on ssb there that darn good but am need it for the locals..
dont know if i want the new 257 or a lincoln
have a 2950 with sp1 but dont use it have a m6b
works great with my xt-400
