ok I can't find my manuals. Anyone know the stock mic wiring "color to pin" for the Ts 690s? and the combo to wire the turner expander 500?

Kenwood Mic Pinout:

1 - Mic Audio
2 - STBY (PTT)
3 - Down
4 - Up
5 - +8V
6 - NC
7 - GND (Mic)
8 - GND (STBY)

Expander 500 Wiring:

WHITE - AUDIO
SHIELD - GROUND
YELLOW - SPEAKER SWITCHING
BLACK - RX
BLUE - TX
RED - B+ VOLTAGE

Expander 500 to Kenwood:
1 - White
2 - blue
5 - Red
7 - Shield

WHITE ~ AUDIO
SHIELD ~ GROUND
BLUE ~ TRANSMIT
BLACK ~ RECEIVE
RED ~ COMMON
YELLOW ~ AUDIO SW

Sorry can't help you with the Kenwood mic wiring.

I mistunderstood what I was looking at in the Turner microphone book and I don't think you should connect the red wire to pin 5. I mistakenly thought it was there to power the microphone from the radio if it was available and instead it for isolated switching of transmit and receive.

Just wire it up this way:

Expander 500 to Kenwood:
1 - White
2 - blue
7 - Shield
