no one thing that I can think of could possibly give you "more power, great modulation, super swing and clear talk back"
As they say "if it looks to good to be true, it probably is" I would steer clear

i have another cobra 148 on the shelf that has a
'supertalk' kit in it. they claimed linear alignment, low dead key, more swing etc. years ago they were around for about $25-30. not sure what if anything it does in this particular cobra, but for a buck or 2, npcrc, volted finals & heavy swing mod show a LOT more increase then the 'no' increase that little package shows. and it didn't cost a penny to wire variable output into the rf gain control. just my sanity-should have wired it into the squelch. i've been saying for 10 years i'll switch, just never get to it.

These "DX Modules" as they are calling them is probably one of those little epoxy egg shaped do-hickies. Inside it is a resistor. You can't see it and the item usually has four or five wires coming out of it. They tell you to connect them to power and ground and all that jazz. They aren't connected to anything inside the "egg". Only two wires are and they are hooked to the resistor. On Galaxy radios, this is the case, and they usually tell you to remove the resistor in the R238 slot and install the wires there. Don't waste your money on this, I bought one just to see what was inside. It was 15.00 bucks or so, but atleast now I know what's lurking inside this magic egg.

Don't waste your time.
