my S-45 displays works OK. Either in Freq Mode or Channel display mode. It could be that yours may have a cold solder joint somewhere. There's a 1 year warranty on the radio.

My Magnum 257 rf power meter display does not work sometimes. Sometimes it will show full power, if turned up, and other times one or two bars or none, but transmit is the same. Mine does vary at times from 7 watts to about 10 or 12. Maybe just hitting on one transmitt final.
Talks good though. Too much trouble to send back, unless....they would give me credit for the cost of the 257 (it's less than a month old) and apply the credit toward an S-9!

Yogi,

If you are having problems and you have sent your warranty card in to Magnum your radio will be repaired FREE under the factory warranty.

Contact MAGNUM International for an (RA Number) at:

1-877-624-6869 toll free

If you would have purchased your radio from Copper Electronics I could have issued you an RA Number to have it repaired.

Sorry but I have not heard of this being a problem before with anyone who owns one.

Hope this helps,

Lon

Yogi,

Like I mentioned I have not heard of this being a problem before from any of the Copper Customers.

I talked with Sam Lewis today and mentioned it to him and he is also unaware of this problem.

That Magnum 257 sounds like a really nice radio.
It's starting to tickle my buying bone.

If it's anything like my General Lee I might have to invest in one. I got alot of compliments on my Lee this morning while telling the truckers about a wreck on the highway.

Yes I bought the Magnum S-9 a week ago, I love the radio, After a couple days when I went to turn it on the freq and channel is stuck on the last cannel I was using like the night before. I am using this in the house so I know this isnt due to the outside temperatures. Its doing it everytime now then after about 10 minutes its OK, To bad I have to ship it off after just getting it. Anyway The Radio is KING !! of all radios out there and still very happy so far.
