I have a x-force 20012hd base amp, would this work as a driver for a x-force 60012hd, x-force charts show a x-80 as a recommended driver, but the 20012 on low looks like it would be close to the x-80 in output! would high be to much for the 60012? will this set-up allow me to run just the driver, with the option of the bigger amp when needed? yes I'm a rookie! I've been looking throught the post and its answered alot of my questions! thanks Doug

yes, you can run the driver amp without the big box on.
no, you can't drive the 60012 w/the 20012hd. at least not very many times. the x80 would be on LOW itself to drive the 60012, as it requires only about 20-25 watts dead key. you'd probably be getting just over 100 swing from the 80 at that level. the 20012 probably dead keys closer to 80 on low & swings 200.
setting up multiple amps requires an accurate wattmeter, knowledge of what amp will handle input-wise at given voltage, and patience-because the estimates from the amp builder regarding setup aren't exact, but you have to get 'em right or POOF!
