I have learned so much in a short period of time its amazing.This forum is so active I have been here almost everyday for two weeks and still can find something to stimulate my thinking everyday. There are alot of highly knowledgable people here, almost all. Learning from others expertise, experience,accomplishments, failures and opinions is how I learn to achieve my own goals. Everybody is a student.I love this hobby very much, it makes me happy.If your a ham a cber or the neighborhood kids talking on G.I. Joe walkie talkies it does'nt matter to me. Goodwill to ALL of mankind is the only thing that makes it worth my time.I'm thankful for the people who make this place a reality. The numbers are few in this hobby!

Great post! I feel the same way! This hobby get's in yer blood, and it's all ya think about! And always new things to learn, new gear to experiment with, so many different aspects of things to take into consideration with your station, so on and so forth! I also thank all the fellow members and techs for such great info. I too, am learning alot from this forum. Good numbers to y'all. CEF496 |

Hey Kenny, you ought to go back into some of the archives of this forum on different topics, you will read a lot about installations, radios, antennas, etc. Some very valuable info.

Thanks Timebomb. Hey Kieth! I do just that. Its like my own personal library. Since on this forum I have got so far 1 young person excited and into talking on the radio.He made his first DX contact Sunday with a bone stock Uniden Pro and 102 inch antenna. His eyes lit up because he didnt have a clue what just a regular cb can do! Now its in his blood and my job is done! |

10 4 on the radio ethics!! An example from me is this: on our Sunday nets for 13LSB, if I hear locals talking, I will not try to do my call out to reach CEF members. I wait unitl they are done. That is why sometimes, you do not see me with any posts of contacts from our Sunday nets. However, that is just one example of radio ethics. Keep
that young man learning about radio. And also this: No ? is a dumb ?!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise, how will you learn?

That is what is FUN about the Radio Hobby and the Copper Electronics Forum.
You are never going to find anyone who knows everything about anything and it is a constant learning process.
We are very lucky to have many knowledgeable people in the radio hobby that are Copper Forum Members who are always willing to share their 1st hand experience and knowledge with others.
And like Keith said there are no Dumb or Silly Questions.
I have been in the radio hobby since 1962 and still continue to learn something NEW every single day about our hobby.
Keep asking questions and everyone will continue to try and help answer them for you.
The Copper Forum is a great place for CBers and Hams and Short Wave enthusiasts to meet and discuss or ask any question relating to the Radio Hobby.
Please continue to ask questions and enjoy the Copper Forum.

I explained to him that importance. Since he is new he has a little mic fright but thats normal. I have given him examples and told him to just listen and learn. As far as CB goes one of the most important rules in ethics is asking for a break if you want to talk. Sometimes people never ask for a break and thats rude. I can't stand nothimg more than being butted in on. When I chat with my friends and we hear a breaker, we acknowledge and kindly standby. He has so far just got his feet wet. I have done all I can do chosing an intelligent person and introducing a great hobby. Happy DXing to all and hope to hear you guys soon. |

Hotwire thank you for keeping the hobbie alive with the young one teach him well and If you teach him to have the same respect for people that he speaks face 2 face with he will grow up 2 be a fine outstanding citizen |
