I happen to have two of their antennas by luck, One is my wifes XM antenna and one was the ONLY 100 watt thru glass 2 meter antenna I was able to find. Both antennas perform exceptianaly well! My wifes Xm antenna picks up signal when mine doesn't, infact seems to NEVER drop! and my 2 meter antenna dispite being trhu glass performs great!!! Recieve and transmit 50-60 miles at 65 watts! granted I haven't been into the whole ham thing long enough to know if that is good for sure, but to me that seems great!!! I mean IT'S THRU GLASS!!! Any way with all my good experience with them, I wonder why I have never seen a post talking about 'em. Are they just too small of a company that not many people have any thing of theirs? Or what? Just wonderin'

Bc910,

I think the reason that not many people use or know about Antenna Specialists Ham Mobile Antennas is because they have a very limited line of products.

Checking my catalogs here with only 3 products listed and all 3 being an ON Glass Antenna's there just is not much of a market for on glass antennas.

I tried the Antenna Specialists APS151 On Glass Antenna and was not happy with the performance.

I then put a Anttron ADB-270-M Mag Mount on and it had far more range on Transmit and Receive in Simplex use.

ADB-270-M

And the Anttron was more than 50% less than the cost of the AS antenna.

I learned my lesson and I personally will not buy anymore ON Glass Antennas in the future.

Just my personal experience.
