Thank you Coyote!

I am quite sure if you get the FC-347 Frequency Counter to go with it you will be very pleased with the performance.

I have even heard a Rumor that if you get the Radio and a FC347 Frequency Counter there might be a Discount when ordering both.

I will have to check and make sure.

Find out how long that deal will last too, I don't know how soon I will be able to order one. May have to sell some equipment to swing it. I suppose I could do without the counter to start with though. And being a 10 meter as well, give's me incentive to get my ham ticket like I've been thinking about.

Looks like a nice radio, but what hurts is needing to add the freq counter, then your getting up in the price range that would buy a really nice mobile and power supply. Like the connex 4800, galaxy 88, ranger 2950dx, voyage 9000, magnums 257, omega force, and S-9. On some of these you could even add the price of a small amp. Of course lots of people don't like a mobile for a base. Also you can get by without the counter, lots of people used roadmaps on those old converted CB's for years.

My question is, if I get a small freq counter like the one Lon suggested, will it fit in that empty space down in the bottom center on the front there? And is there enough room behind that spot on the face for all the freq counter electronics?
I was thinking it would be cool to cut out a spot and mout one in there so it would look right and be less stuff cluttering up my desk.

Bc,

There would be room between the Controls in the middle at the Bottom of the radio.

It takes up very little space sitting on top and allows you to unplug the FC-347 from the radio to use with other radios.

It is ONLY 1-1/4" High x 3-1/2" Wide x 3-1/4" Deep on the face the body part you would slide into the hole would be: 1" H x 3" W x 2"D

And you would need to cut thru the Face of the radio as well as a metal backing plate mounted to the rear of the Main Radio Front.

But if you want to cut it up and mount it, there is room Right under the Channel Display between the control knobs.

It will take a very fine blade and a lot of caution and time but it can be done if someone wants too.

Hope this helps,

Lon
