I'm running a Xforce XT40012 Base amp it has 2 x 2SC2290/4 x 2SC2879, I have the radio set to dead key 2 watts and swing about about 35 or so and with that the amp has a dead key of 300 watts and swings 1100 watts. I talked to the people at Xforce and this is what they told me i could safely drive the amp with, up to 45 watts of swing but NO more than 5 watts dead key and it does a good job on SSB.

Yogi,

Sorry I have never found a reason yet to add power to it.

I have talked three days in a row with Valter in Italy, and used them on the Sunday CEF Nets BAREFOOT STOCK and always made great contacts all over the US with out even thinking of adding power.

If I ever find I need more power I will try the Texas Star 500 and see how it does.
