I have a Vc 300 that has no modulation anymore. Would like it fixed, or I would buy another one if I knew where one was at. |

Straightjacket - I see them for sale on auction sites from time to time, so I'm sure you could pick on up if you watch for one. I don't know where you'd get it repaired though. I would imagine if it's something simple a real CB tech could fix it by tracing the circuit.
I've seen them around for years but don't know anything about them. What does it do and how did you use it? |

Voice compressor, echo, record and transmit on a timer. It has plenty of great features. I was hoping to send it back to Rf Limited to get it fixed. I could use a schematic, if I had one I would have a local gut I know look at it. |

It sounds pretty cool if it's got a compressor built in. I'd probably never use the echo as I only use SSB.
What's the point of record and transmit timing? |

Racer X, theres alot of things its good for. Right now I wish I could get some kind of help with this thing. I have posted in other sections of the forum looking for some kind of input from somebody who could send me in the rght direction. |

They aren't made anymore, so I doubt you can get it fixed by the factory. Find a good tech - one who actually knows electronics and doesn't just follow the directions in a "tune up manual" or website. They should be able to trace out the circuit and find where the problem is. |

OK, heres the scoop.
I called and talked with Chris and he said he can and does repair them but finding the parts is extremely hard and they are a pain to repair and it will not be CHEEP so hang on if you want it repaired.
They were imported back in the 90's and have not been made since maybe 90 or 91 or so.
Call Sam Lewis at Magnum International and if you really want it fixed and are willing to pay he will give you Chris's information.

I was looking through an old catalog and found a reference to the VC-300, but among the features it didn't list speech compression. It says it's like a telephone answering machine for radio. It's also got echo and roger beeps. Does you VC-300 have compression? |
