Within the next two weeks I'll be erecting a 48' tower. As of now I have an A99 less than 30' above ground and have no problem talking skip from NJ to Cal and Can. Now the problem is I have a brand new Maco 103 and a rotor that I anticapated on installing on the tower and was wondering for a real long time, would I be expecting much more if I were to put the A99 on the tower compared to the 103? Would there be less garbage with the 103 and how about locale talk?

Actually if you have the space on
your property mount both antennas./
The Maco 103 will give you more gain
and allow you to hear people you
can't on the A-99 if mounted Verticle.
If your more interested in talking skip,
then mount your beam Horz. and mount your
A-99 right above it on the tower.
Local taking is easier in my opinion with
an Omni Antenna (A-99) because of other
cbers being in all different directions
from you.

375, If mounting one on top of the other, would't they interfere with each other? Someone told me they had to be 36' apart.

Nah, the Antron would just use the M 103 as a groundplane, they would both work fine, only downside being if you have a problem with the tower, you lose both antenna.

If you mount 103 Horz on your tower,
then A-99 can be mounted above it
with no problems.
If you mount your beam Verticle on the
tower, then you will have to mount A-99
somewhere else.

Yeah, Road Warrior is right, I just assumed the 103 was for dx and would be mounted horizontal.
