just curious what the source for the adjustments to the uniden PRO 538w was. there is no L11, and L13 and L14 are the AM power adjustments.
and it seems to me that Q15 would be the AMC.

The source of the information for the 538w came from my personal notes.

I just double checked my information against the C.B. Tune Up Manual Volume III and Ultimate Modification Bible, and Screwdrivers Experts Guide.

There is a difference between them as some list L11, L10 and Cut D12 and others list L11,L14 and Q15.

I have added both sets of information to the Modification List.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

When typing over 50.000 lines and spending several hundreds of hours on this list already, it is easy to miss something and I still have over 5000 more pages of notes of modifications/tune up info to get listed before even starting on the ham radios/equipment.

Should anyone find something I have missed or that needs to be corrected or added please let me know.

As I have stated hundreds of times on the Copper Forum here you will NEVER hear me say I know EVERTHING about ANYTHING.

As with ALL Modifications and Tune Up Procedures a person performs these at their Own Risk.

thanks lon, i hope i didnt sound condescending in my post; i definitely didnt mean it that way.

just so you know, neither D12 or Q15 does much to improve the modulation. i just dotn think there's much you can do for this chassis.
and i may have missed something, but i cant find L11 anywhere. the TX coils are pretty obvious once you open up the radio, and they are labled L13 and L14 in the 538w that i have. i bought this radio new right around xmas time last year. (2004) im not sure if uniden had changed the chassis or what, these are just my findings.
i hope this helps. my goal is always to help, even if i do get a bit mouthy every once in a while.
