Skilletlicker:

Do you know if any repeater system in your area has either IRLP or Echolink?

You know you can work the world using voice over IP.

Hi,

If any of you Hams are interested in an Echolink Repeater here in England, Check out 'GB3AI' node number 4969.

This Repeater has its output on 145.6875Mhz and has MASSIVE coverage, most of South East England from its site in Amersham Buckinghamshire, atop the Chiltern Hills.

GB3AI covers ALL of London and the 'home counties' - counties surrounding London.

Sometimes GB3AI is connected to GB3DX in Birmingham England, so you have Coverage of MOST of the UK by population mass. An estimated 15 Million People..!!!!!! (Not all Hams) :o)

Check it out...

Cheers,

Timeslice Thanks for the info made many contacts via echolink. In fact all over the world!

Its a nice to have Echolink just for causal ragchew and to meet new freinds.

The bands are down and its nice to talk to distant repeaters also.

Thanks again for the information i will check in sometime today.

Have you tried the Wilmington repeater yet? It's on 146.820. I think the tone is 88.5 unless they've changed it..again. Or you could try the Lumberton machine at 147.045. The 045 has a net every night at 7 or 8, I can't remember. You could probably hit the 820 machine, but the 045 you'd need a good antenna and maybe a little more kick...
