I am new to the board and just wanted to say "hi" and introduce myself.
I have been DX'ing since 1975 when I was a kid and used a Sears Roadtalker on a 5/8 aluminum antenna. Boy those were the days!
Had various radios over the years. Had a HR-2510 and should have never gotten rid of it! :-(
Have Cobra 139XLR base all decked out that I am using presently(Used to be my fathers until he passed away)and Antron 99 with groundplane kit. Decent setup. For the mobile I have a President Grant all tricked out that sounds real good.
Anyway, not to ramble, Just wanted to say hello! :-)

Welcome! Yes, those were the days. I was just a kid also. Had to use my grandpa's Cobra 142 until I got my own Realistic navaho trc432 and the same aluminum 5/8 wave antenna. Shot alot of skip with it. I know you will like this forum. Many very helpful people here.

I did pick up a tricked President Grant :-) and really impessed with it. Using it currently as base. 100.00 bucks I paid for it.

I just had a question come to mind. How were you introduced to this forum? Did someone tell you about it or did you find it by searching the net by keywords?

The about this site is you can learn from the mistakes of people like me! Let us spend the money in trial and error and you reap the benefits. I, too, have learned a lot from this site even though I'm quite hardheaded and buy some stuff they say isn't good anyway. Great site.

Knottyboy, I was searching for the best deals for radios. After a few searches, copperelectronics.com came up!
Glad I found it too. Excellent prices and nice people on the forums! :-)
