Got early Xmas gift.
After frustrated with limitations on other radio I have, the wife bought me an RCI 2980WX! :-)
Let me tell you this unit kicks butt!
What I like the most is the varible RF control.
The receive is excellent on this unit and rarely have to use receive amp.
It has gobs of transmit power and swing for what I need for. All in all, I am happy camper. I think I will keep the wife for a while! LOL

Hey your lucky last year the GF asked me to not use the radio on Chistmas LOL, but hey if there are conditions I am gonna take advantage of them. This year I asked her for a new radio and she laughed said with all the electronics junk you have laying around you dont need any more, sheesh and I dont even have hardly anything anymore!

My wife says with all the "Junk" I have I should be able to talk to Mars. There's always room for more stuff though.

Starface,
I told her the only way to know for sure was if I tried to contact her there. Boy if looks could kill.

LOL! Sgt-rat is askin for the boot...

Crackshot, man.. your one lucky guy... I guess IF i asked for a new radio my wife would try her hardest to get it... but I'm happy with my antique Courier and Boomer amp... so I'll forego askin for a new one.. glad you got one though.. you better come up off of something REAL good on Christmas morning for her though... (i'm sure you will)

Well there was a catch to this early Xmas gift.
Wife wanted a new wireless laptop so I had to take her to Best Buy.
Guess I could not argue the fact being we do not have to fight over desktop anymore and she did get my RCI for me.
Little over 800 bucks later, she is now a happy camper.

Bruce: She already sells on internet auction sites. Over 500 positive feedbacks wheelin' and dealin' craft supplies!

Coyote: Yes there is ALWAYS a catch but the wife never bugs me about radio hobby or what I do. It is a good trade off and keeps the peace. Spendy, but effective!
