What does the speech processor do? Is it kind of like the audio compressor on my OmegaForce?

K40 tells me that the speech processor (The 'Charlie' chip) no longer resides in the microphone, it is now built in to the radios.

This is spectacular news, Lon! Do they have a SSB version so we could use it on the CEF nets?
