This is true. Happened right here in Amish country....

Ephrata Borough Police said they caught a burglary suspect Wednesday morning after the man fled from the crime scene and ran smack into the metal posts of a CB radio tower.

Ephrata police offered this account in the news release.

A sleeping couple in the 400 block of S. State St awoke at 1:45 am to see a man standing in their bedroom (this is where the story would have ended had this occured at my house). The man fled, and the couple called police.

when officer's arrived they found (name deleted to protect the dumbass) crouched behind a chair on the couple's back porch, police said.

The man had fled from the home with a small amount of money and a woman's bra, the police said.

Here's where it gets good...

As he crossed a yard near S. State and King St's he ran into a support rail for the homeowner's CB radio tower.

Knocked down by the impact, he got back up, and ran face first into ANOTHER support rail for the tower. This second impact knocked out three of his teeth and broke his nose.

He struggled as he was apprehended by the police, biting the officer on the the finger. Both the suspect and the officer were treated at the Ephrata Community Hospital.

It goes on to say how he was charged with aggravated assault, burglary, resisting arrest and theft.

He was arraigned and committed to the County jail on $50,000 bail.
