After two days of freezing rain and snow I fired up the station and found my receive to be weak and full of static.I walked out to look at the old A99 and found it's exterior coated about 2 to 3 inches thick the full length of the antenna. One hard rap on the aluminum mast and 90 % of the frozen stuff fell off.The static went away and my receive returned to its normal db.
