I have read that the magnum 257 and blackhawk are the same board. Is this true and will the mods for the 257 also work on the blackhawk.Any idea wher to find a schematic for this radio. blackhawk 120 |

Strightclaw, Yes the Blackhawk has the same main board as the older Titan II, Black Hawk, AE845, Magnum 257 & 357 radio's. For a schematic just use the one for the older Magnum 257 not the new Magnum 257 Mosfet powered radios which can be found by doing a search on the internet by using Google. www.google.com Lon ~ Tech808 ~ N9CEF CEF#808 ~ CEF HAM#33 ~ CVC#002 Tech808@copperelectronics.com

I have googgled toogled and froogled and no result in locating any info on this radio. Looking at the pics. of the magnum 257 board this radios board doesn't look anything like it.My guess is the older blackhawk 120 and Magnum 257 may have been the same. But I dont see it here with this one. This radio has been converted to 11 meters. So now its 40 above and 40 below. it has a low med and high switch. No SSB, AM FM only.Still searching! |

sorry i couldn't find a better pic, 'claw, but the AM/FM only radio was a clear channel AR-2000. it is sized & shaped like a 257, but set up differently. does yours look like this more then a 257? there were several radios that looked like this one. try to google & google image 'ar 2000 radio' & you should find the original of this pic. it was not very popular & didn't last long. there was 1 on 'auction' just this past weekend i believe.
