They are great little radio's that can be hidden if need be in almost any car quickly. They make good base radio's too especially if you want to feed an amp 1-3 watt's. Kind of silly to use a huge powerful dual final radio to feed 1-3 watt's not to exceed 12-15 watt's pep into an amp when something like this will do it so well and so cheaply! I have the Radio Shack version two of them in fact and one has the clarrifer opened with Super Slide diode I got from an old TV set tuning section. I always get compliments on how I sound ont he air on those few times I wonder onto AM and no one believes me when I tell them I am talking on a small Radio Shack SSB 40 channel radio I got off ebay for $30 and free shipping!LOL My other one has not been opened at all and still has it's warranty sticker in place. Again always get compliments on how I sound! They are not perfect that is for sure the audio is not as nice as a large chassis clone of the Cybernet radio's but so many people butcher their radio's that even a tiny radio like this set up properly can sound fantastic! |

I recently bought a Uniden PC-122XL for $50 on eBay and am really impressed with it. Only problem is there are two bars in the channel display that are burnt out but can still tell easily which channel I'm on. The RX light is out although the TX light works, but that's cosmetic if you ask me. I'd always heard these were good little radios and thought I'd give it a try. The radio is as stable as a rock, power's up on Freq. and stays there. Not sure when the production run was although I remember hearing about them in the mid 90's. I've always liked the Uniden Washington and Grant's and I wish they'd make a quality SSB like they used to. They've got enough models of AM's. <B>"From My Radio Wave To Yours.
