Well I got my 2950 today & it came with the c.b.
channel chip mod ,plug and wiring in a seperate plastic little bag..The Radio came with a seal over the side of the covers.so I was wondering how to get in side. I hooked up my Dosy meter,
And the Radio only put out 2 watts A.M. 6 SSB.
SO the seal came off and all is good now....

Please, Sir, use it in vfo mode if you must move far away from center freq. It is really nice to be able to tweak your recieve with the clarifier and not change your transmit. I repeat, do not change the clarifier. With my Ranger whenever I'm in a roundtable I just get my vfo where most others are and change the clarifier to hear those who are off freq when necessary. I had an anxiety attack when I saw the word "unlock".

So does my Magnum 357, but as i have found including most of my own "cb's" is they are off frequency anyway. Don't worry...now most 27 users are on ham radios anyway.

It is nice just to tap the clarifier,
Too fine tune adjust. Not having to
switch back to VFO mode.
Still works great johhn

i have to agree with Znut, do not unlock the clarifier on the 2950DX, if you want a radio that has an unlocked clarifier get a Galaxy (94HP) that has SSB they have the two stage clarifier (fine & coarse) which works great with a 6 digit frequency counter

Yes, with 2950 never unlock the clarifer that is just stupid when you can just put the carrot under the last digit and move up or dawn to get RIT dead on. In fact no clarifer could hope to match what your VFO can do.

So please anyone with an RCI 2950 no matter if it is an old model or the new DX do not unlock the clarifier us the radio's tools.
