can't wait i have a ft-817 on the way+hf back packer
amp and other stuff for it ..sold of o the ft-857 .this will be fun radio to have this spring and summer when i go camping with my son. he thinks it so cool to set up a rig out in the woods on a hill and talk to people far away.or when we go fishing .
.. i just hope my son does not take the radio from me .LOL.. he played with at the candy store in dec. and wanted more than the ft-950 lol

got my 817 all i got to say is sweettttttttttt!!!
my ct-62 cable will here tomorrow and then i get to progam this little bad boy lol..

I have an 817 has my only rig.I can not say enough about it it's probably the best thing that ever happened to me(besides my wife) Alot of technology in a little package.I use CW only has it's the best mode for QRP.Do I wish I still had a 100watt rig?Yes Sometimes! when the bands are bad.But when you log a new state or country (yes country) all the frusration is worth it.

i sold mine and other stuff to pay for new bills lol .... but it a great radio for what it is all mode big ht!!! im just getting back in agian
i got my ic-91d and now time send off ts-520se to
get a 10m radio .But it funny all this time i keeped my trusty old rs-465 " aka pc-122" it is the only radio i would never sell i have never found a cb or ham radio that can due better on ssb
its alway dead on freg ..bought back in the late 80's for $50.00 and came with a 148 sold the 148 for $100.00 and spent all the money to fix up the rs-465 it been on the test bench 3 times over the years and never driffed or lost a step

Those pc122 xl is a great radio, no trouble on it for many years , steady as a rock on ssb....
The Yaesu is a great radio..have a ft857d, works like a champ
