Saturday, after a 2 and a1/2 year vacation , I decided to put the old imax back up. But first I bent the gpk up to around 30 degrees as suggested on the forum. Almost instantly I started working all over the U.S on sideband. Washington,Texas ,Arizona , Oklahoma, Michigan, Arkansas. This was done with 30 watts on my lincoln. Sunday night was insane also, Skip rolling on and off till after midnight. Next move get a rotor and throw my pdl2 up. Boy what a way to be welcomed back on the air. Hope to contact some of you on 27.115 on sunday

Hi there,
I'm curious to know a couple of things. What height is your Imax from the ground? Did you ever use it without the Ground Plane Kit? If so, did you see/hear a difference in Tx/Rc when you added the GPK? Glad to hear you're back on the air!

I did read, re-read and then read it again. I was just wondering if Twa77 saw a change between having the GPK in his experience to confirm the findings. Would bending the planes perpendicular (0 degrees) like the V58 be as good/better than having the 30 degree bend?
Personally, I have a max of 30' mast against the house, so looking for best solution for an Omni. I have Imax 2k now, but maybe moving to the Sigma Mantova when it's available. Thanks again.

Twa77,

You got a PDL-2, Cool, I got one too but still did not get it up. How do you like it? I hear they are great. I was on 10 this weekend and talked to an operator in Georgia who was working on a PDL-2 tuned for 10 and he said it performs real good there.
