I have one. I picked it up to use as a bench radio for general testing. I build a lot of gizmo's and just needed something basic to have on hand. It does the job well. I turned up the mod a bit, and have to say it sounds pretty good with the stock mic. The receive is average to a little weak, but its a very basic radio. I like the RF gain adjustment for use on the bench, I can turn it down and listen to whatever radio I'm working on. I think I paid $35, so no complaints. A friend runs the version with out RF gain, and once again audio is good, but his receive is a bit weak. If you just need something basic to keep in touch locally, the price is right. If you want to drive a box or are looking for a "nice" mobile, id go up a notch or two.
