What is the max dead key & min on AM & SSb for this amp to work proper, I can't find any information on this amp

I would go with no more than 3 watts in!!

It is basically just a 250 watt amplifier. Knowing that 250 is about the max the amp output is you can adjust the radio output until you see that number. The max amp deadkey should be somewhere between 50 to 70 watts.This would be proper performance. Keep an eye on the watt meter so you know your in the safe zone
So each setup is different depending on how and how well it was installed. On an average what drive or amp input usually works is a 2 watt deadkey and 20 watt swing. 20 watt PEP for SSB. With exports or your higher power dual final radios the dead key is the same but the swing is going to be much higher, sometimes to high for the amps liking. Being that you have the HD model you may have a little more room for swing. Whatever it takes to get the 250 watt PEP. Feel for overheating and get several radio checks from ones you trust. Back mic gain down if you think the amp is working a little to hard.
