Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone else was running the old 98? I have had to resurect our OLD 98 jalopy as the "good one" has had a seizure and is still in the shop. I fired her up and have had numerous problems as 98 is no longer supported. Got it running ok but with only a 3.2 Gb hard drive i am very restricted with it. So i was wondering how anyone else handles 98 nowadays?
Regards,
Bob.

P.S. I can't wait for my XP one to come back....lol.

I have two boxes running 98. Both are used to control a single receiver via software. The Gateway runs my AOR AR2500 wideband RX, which scans local rescue/paramedic frequencies, while the Dell runs a Uniden BC245xlt scanner that is usually set to monitor local airports and aviation.

It's nice to be able to look at a large computer display instead of the tiny LCD displays built into the radios, and the use of software allows alpha-tagging each frequency with the name of the agency/entity that is being received, something that neither of these radios can do on their own.

Both are connected via serial port to their respective radios, and both are connected to my home LAN via USB wireless adapters. Believe it or not I have boxes running 98, XP Home, XP Pro, XP MCE, Vista Home Basic, and Vista Home Premium, all on the same LAN sharing a printer, DSL connection, and files, and they all play nice!
