I have owned the RCI 2950 for 6 years, I bought it new from Coppers, and it is the best mobile radio I have owned! I currently have it mobile talking through a K40 on the roof of my truck, and let me tell you, this baby performs!!! I can hit all of the locals with ease up to 50 miles away on LSB. This is for real! I took a road trip recently and I was able to talk to the locals for 50 miles with no extra power, and no pre-amp! SWEET! I wouldn't trade this thing for an HF rig! |

not bad but I don't think I would stick with just one radio if I haven't tryed what else is out there. good to see you are getting 50+ miles out of it and I'm going to say thats on CB cuz you stated it was on lsb and 10 meter SSB is mostly usb. have you used it on 10 meter? and what are your reports there? Back 10 years ago I had a 2950 and 2950DX and 5054DX ... A 2950 is a ok starter radio but first time you get to use a IF DSP filtered radio you will see why it's the way to go. Take a look at a IC-7000 a FT-450 or a TS-2000 .. The TS-2000 will go to 50 Hz wide on CW ! and you can go from 5 KHZ to 1400 HZ on SSB it's built into the radio .... nothing to buy. On 10 meters it will walk around my FT-840 on all modes and its a very old radio by what else is out there. The IC-7000 and FT-450 are simular but have some what less selections of bandwidth points ... On 6 since 66
