I was just curious what everyone's opinion is on the radio shack trc-477. I got a good deal on a like new rig and was curious. I have no plans to do any mods on it. I just bought it for local ragchewing and to listen to the truckers on trips. I'd like to see what others think of it. 73 |

Pale_rider, Sorry I have never owned or operated one before. But as long as you are happy with it and it's performance, that is all that counts. Lon~Tech808 N9CEF~EN50mk CEF#0808~CVC#0002

Pale Rider, I have owned several of these find radios and been very pleased with the radio. Accouple I have had heavily modified with digi scan modification opening up the frequency range. With a good tune and a nice power mic you will have very clear audio and exceptional swing for a single final radio. These radio in my opinion are constructed well, heavy and made a very nice mobile/base radio. They are large for a mobile but put a good power supply on them drop the rms to 2 watts pep near 10 and you will have a great radio to drive a single or two pill amp. I have had operators tell me that for a old school cb from the yester years it sounded as good as any they had heard. It is definitly a keeper as I still have one that is un modified but tuned well that I key up for qso's once in awhile. 73 |
