I just got this radio sound's great but was wondering 2 thing's, the dsc when on i can't hear anybody unless they are so close. i feel It could have an adjustment anybody know? and 2 the cb guy put talkback in it but it squeeled as soon as u keyed up he said i would have to turn mic gain way down, i think he might have did it wrong, he said all unniden's are like that, any help

i would try a diffrent resister,try a .470 ohm from rat shack.there is a adjustment, i am not sure what it is.ask 307 or 181

It sounds like the tech that you chose is one of those "truck stop Tweakers".He obviously dose not know what he is talking about.I dont mean to discriminate, but all Uniden radios do not squeal.The truth is ALL radios will sqeal if the talkback is too loud.This is called feedback.If you do like the tech said and turn your mic gain down, you are going to lose modulation.You do not want to do that.Talkback is easy to hook up in one of these radios, and to be able to adjust the volume of it is almost as easy.Here is what I did.I diconected the Ch.9 switch and hooked the TB up to that to switch it on and off.Then I removed the swr control and put a 500 ohm variable in place of that to use as volume control for the talkback.Both of these features are useless anyhow.One other thing, I would recommend not using the stock mic, it is not a noise cancelling mic, I would go for the RK 56b or the Astatic NC.Good luck...Eddie
