Is there any certain scanner antenna height like it is for c.b. or ham radio for the scanner to receive better? |

I would apply the same principles. For line of sight signals the higher the better. However on frequencies below 10 mhz low antennas will receive those signals out several hundred miles easily and reject the really distance stations somewhat. N.V.I.S. Hope that helped. |

Thanks Mike, That does help some what. I use to listen to short wave and I use to construct my antenna out of copper wire bed spring and a whole host of things. Always interesting to exchange notes and experiences to help each other enjoy their hobby more. Have a nice day Mike and thanks once again. |

You are very welcomed Charliebrown. This is the kind of stuff I like to see on here. I like to throw out topics just to get discussion goind (of some kind) and I do enjoy sharing what I think I know and learning from other. That's what makes this site great. I was away from here for a little while and trying to get back in the swing. It's kind of quiet, but when cycle 24 gets going I'm sure cber's and hams alike will be asking questions, making posts and having more fun. |
