I got a DX2547 for x-mas. Hooked it to an Army Big Stick antenna and a night eagle mic. works great. From Colorado I have talked with people on the east coast, west coast, and the north of Canada. Sound quality is excellent

Somone out here bought one from eei i think and he had the famous turbo tune done to it and when he keyed the mic he had 50% modulation. And it was a stock mic. Then he sent it back to eei or he might have sent it to copper but he got is back and it worked ok. but could work alot better!!!!!

I am looking to trade for one. I have a Ranger 6900F that I will trade for that base radio. Anyone have one and want to trade, let me know. Thanks!

*** I might be crazy, but it's just radios! And I do like the look, so I need one to "tinker on"! ***

IMHO yout be better off getting a RCI 2985 or a 2995. more radio for the $$$ and MUCH better quality! My tech has repaired 10 of those Turbo tuned 2547s in just the past year or so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bruce.
My tech has had probably over 50 radios in his shop that guys have bought from EEI that were "Turbo tuned". Basically they all failed from a few days of purchase to a few weeks after they were bought new!!! A sad way for a company to take advantage of their customers and screw them out of that $$$ for a radio that basically fails........
