id glady do a test also. i think it would put the galaxy 88 or any galaxy to shame especially in the ssb part of the radio. with it being cpu controlled it would be very stable on ssb. id think it would rank right up there with the 2950 magnum 257/omegaforce dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

My concern is who would be handling the warranty, and what about an assigned repair facility in the states. |

Hey Dale! I just ordered one of these Alpha 10 Radios and I seen the 26 minute review that was on You Tube and was really quite impressed. This should be arriving here next week and will use this one for Base Side use. I will probably wire up a Silver Eagle with the Tug 8 Head with the 4 wire plug and it should sound like a good powerful modulated base radio. And I am checking into ordering the CD Rom and the USB cable for this soon also. Really like the Display and all of the features of this radio a lot. Very Impressive. Just hope that it is not a Flop and will go over very well. My guess is, that it could be made by RCI because of the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) in the board and being very similar to an RCI 2950 DX in which I own one of these also too. But I really like the display and the Mosfet Finals in this one. I did see a warning somewhere not to turn up this radio because it could warble or distort on SSB. It should do about the same power as a stock 2950 DX. Somewhere about 21 to 25 Watts on SSB and It should sound real clean on SSB. If a person needed a little more power then you could run a Texas Star for the extra added Horsepower... And should do well with my Siro Top One Astroplane even on 10 Meters... So I will keep you informed Dale. Have a good Day! |

Keep in mind the 4 pin is powered on this radio, so you'll have wire your mic a little differently. Mike Moderator120 CEF#0120/HAM #222 KB1NYD CVC#0041

This radio looks awesome. But dont wire the mic up like a standard 4 pin cobra cause it can fry. The whole programming possibilities of this radio alone via a usb port is pretty epic. |

After hearing about this radio I contacted the manufacturer about importing the AT-5555(Max1000). It is available for us to import. However after doing some research on the internet it seems to have some design issues. Fixing these design issues would complicate and delay bringing them in so I decided to see if any of our other suppliers were considering importing this unit. Enter RFLimited. One of my associates had a conversation with Sam Lewis of RFLimited who told us he is bringing in a number of units from the manufacturer of the AT-5555 including the At-5555. Some of the units will arrive this spring and the rest which includes the AT-5555 will be in mid summer. He said they made a number of design changes to the AT-5555. I'll report more specifics about the design changes to the AT-5555 and the other units RFLimited is bringing in later. Forummaster CEF001 CVC001

Sounds good. If this radio is all it's cracked up to be, it may just be the pinnacle of CB Tech to date, with the whole computer programming deal. It'd be pretty nifty to program one of the bands with all of your favorite frequencies. |

I've had one of the original Alpha 10 Max with the RF Rain on the front, got it in February, have had a ton of fun with it on SSB. Works well in the mobile also with noise blanker and anl. I did find the program disc doesn't like Windows 7 but works ok with Vista |

Isn’t the Alpha 10 max very similar to the CRT SS-6900 from France? From what I viewed and read on the net the only difference is the SS-6900 seems to utilize a standard 4 pin mic and uses different software to program the radio. I’m sure Copper already knows all about this radio, hopefully they will do a evaluation on the SS-6900 and see if it meets there expectations for possible inventory and distribution. Best Regards |
