Can CA-400 coax be used for my cb antenna without issues? I have searched and googled this Ca-400 coax some one is selling and I can't find any information on it like ohms or shielding properties. It looks like shielding is aluminum. I don't even know if you can solder aluminum to the connector. If anyone knows anything about this coax, please see if you can give me some info....thanks in advance alorio1

The CA-400 cable that Copper Electronics sells is identical to LMR-400 cable from Times Microwave.

The center conductor is copper plated aluminum. The shield is aluminum foil under tinned copper braid. You can easily solder to the tinned copper braid wires, and your standard PL-259 work just fine with no modifications required.

A little tip- When soldering the shield to the PL-259 connectors, use a large phillips screwdriver to "ream" the holes a little to scrape off the plating and get to the brass beneath for a better solder bond.
