I've been thinking about that same radio for my mobile. It has sideband which is what I want with a CB. I talked to a guy on the radio passing through and he had a new one. Was real happy with it, crystal clear audio reports from eveyone he talked to. However he said the same as I've read elsehwere, the DSC squelch or whatever is a waste. That may change here in a few years when the sunspot cycle falls and radio gets back to "normal". Might work great then. I'm interested but have not put my fingers on one yet. I believe in Uniden products, good quality. |

For less money and many more features I like the Superstar 3900. If you want a Grant, the pre-LT model I think is better, or a Cobra 148 pre 1990. |

I OWN A GRANT AND HAVE FOR SOME TIME NOW. IT IS MY MOBIL LIFE LINE.I WOULD SUGGEST KEEPING THE WATTS DOWN IF RUNNING AN AMP WITH THIS RADIO.IT WILL TALK AS LONG AS YOU TUNE CORRECTLY. I HAVE TALKED TO EUROPE ALL OVER NORTH AMERICA AND EVEN AFRICA WITH 30 WATTS OUT SITTING BY SOME WATER ON THE LAKE. GREAT RADIO.GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY. |
