Can anyone tell me what transistor these amps use and what kind of power they put out with an unmodified mobile 40 channel? How many db's is the pre-amp? I won one of these on the auction the other night and I am curious. Thanks for any and all replies.

They must have changed them in the last month...the ones I have purchased had a single 1446. This gives about 130w peak on AM and 150 SSB.
The preamp is nice, don't know the specific db's.
A stock 40ch radio will saturate this amp with it's high carrier. This amp only needs about 1w carrier input and 10-12w peak to work correctly.
If you need help setting your radio in that manner drop me an email.
