I finaaly bought one of these radios after hearing so much about them, this is a really nice radio! Has great audio and does well on SSB, 8 watts on AM & 24 watts on SSB. Nice radio for the money, sounds as good as some of the $300 and up radios!! |

Bruce, I put a Echo Master Plus mic on it and it sounds great. How did you like the sideband on it? I tried it last night and seemed to do very well on sideband. I figured I would use it for a while on base then put it in one of the cars, I run a Galaxy dx99v in the car but do not like the SSB on the Galaxy. Does well on AM but not SSB. |

i got rid of my galaxy 959 because it stunk on ssb now im not a ssb persom FM is my mode but i bought the 959 to have a REAL good cb set and was not pleased. The rpsy-485 works like a champ all modes on 10 meters ( mine is stock) even the am is good my mike is a copper 19 buck one ... ohoo didnt know it took a 7 volt battery but aside from that very good mike well worth there price.... copper realy kicks b... on prices Im thinking of a way to power it off pin 6.... hummm... On cb i have a pile of radios i can run mostly my old rad-shack gets the call |
