Does anyone use a Zing Ring on their mobile antenna and if so do you see much difference in performance with it? |

Grump,
About 2 years ago I experimented with the zing ring. Why not, there cheap right? Well, I talked to the same guy every morning on the way to work and could talk to him all the way. (Maryland to Deleware, 24 miles one way) By the time I would get to work and park my car in the parking lot, the signal was soo weak that I sometimes could not make contact with him. But for the most part, I could. So I put the zing ring on and figured I would be able to do better, to my suprise, it was worse. It fell short about 5 miles compared to not having it on there. But I gave it it's chance, I used it for about a year and finally went and bought a new stinger and took it back off. Now I am able to talk to him again like I used to. By the way, I was able to get the swr's lower with the ring on than I was with it off. Conclusion: I wouln't recomend one. But somebody may have better luck. It might just be the application. |

Save your money for something else, Monitoring Times tested and found the same results as you have. |
