I PURCHASED A NEW GALAXY DX 2517, I LIKE THE RADIO VERY MUCH, IT HAS ONLY FIVE DIGIT READ OUT IN IT, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO INSURE YOU ARE RIGHT ON FREQUENCY? ALSO IF I ONLY WANTED 15WATTS PEP OUT PUT, WOULD I SET THE FR OUTPUT KNOB ON AM TO READ FIVE WATTS OUTPUT, ANY INFORMATION ON THIS RADIO I WOULD REALLY ENJOY HEARING.

THANK YOU TED

Put the clarifier on 12 o'clock, straight up. What mic are you using? Do you want 15w on A.M or SSB?

Hi DX431 thank you for your interest, i have found that I can put the fine tuner , CLARIFER AT 12 coclock, and then tune in the frequency, with the coarse, then adjust with the fine . it seems to work well, I have been told my others to put a watt meter on the radio, on ssb, and using the D104 I have it turned down pretty much, and I listen to the talkback to make sure it sounds good,.on 5 on the mike grin, which I foundout controls the pep output, saying Ahhhhhh into the mike, useing the mike gain i turn it until it shows on the meter 15 watts pep.As for AM, I use the power output know, I am enjoying this radio more and more as I get use to it, If you have any more advise please write or e, mail ,

Thank you for your interest,

Karatebutcher,

The best advice I can give you is, read the instruction booklet and play your radio. And most of all, have fun!!
